Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Psalm 127:3

4 babies, 3 years, 2 months, 1 amazing God.
This Fall, just after our first Hub baby turned 2 and our second turned 1, we welcomed a brand new baby to our Global team and received the gift of Oh's miracle grandson staying with her for a short time.
We asked our Nation to Nation parents and grandparents, 'How is your child a gift to you?'
Oh's grandson had a challenging start, but as she took him into her arms, she looked at him and said, "You too were made to be loved."
"The gift God gave me was precious love," she said, "Precious love to give my grandson. God created this child to be loved. He created everyone to be loved, protected and nurtured." When a giant centipede crawled into Oh's bed, God protected her, her husband and the baby from being bitten.

Our first Hub baby celebrated her second birthday this year. Her father said, "My daughter is a gift because she brings a smile to my face every day. Whenever I feel tired or disheartened, she smiles and hugs me, which gives me amazing encouragement. She has taught me more about God's heart and his love, filling our family with fun and peace."
Our second Hub baby has a smile like sunshine and loves to sit in the boxes as the team are packing them full of hygiene kits. Her parents said, "She is a loving gift from God because in her, I see more of God’s love for me. She brings us happiness and joy even if we are sometimes tired."
Our Global Team baby was a gift of perfect timing. Like Mary and Joseph who travelled from Nazareth to Bethlehem, our Global Team parents had to travel from the East coast to the West. It was a long drive but God's gift waited for their arrival. Julia rejoiced, "Every time you get a gift of a child, a blessing springs out of your heart!"
Children are a gift from God. The way we speak about and to children can build them up, or it can knock them down. Parents or not, our Hub team know that kind words are like honey, and use them to nourish the souls of the migrant children they interact with every week. How are children a gift in your life?
Give the gift of precious love to migrant children and youth, some of whom don't have parents.
