World Health Day, 7th April 2025, celebrates 'Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures'. Through hygiene kits, soy milk, clean water and more, we bring healthy beginnings to migrant children and youth, and deliver #hopethatchangeslives for their futures.

A Doctor's Visit
In January Dr. Paul arrived to volunteer. Assisted by one of our interns, an aspiring nurse, he visited schools checking weight, height, eyes and other indicators of sickness.
In one school, Dr. Paul discovered a pattern. Child after child had weak eyesight, low weight and sudden tiredness. The school was located near a whiskey factory with strong fumes. The school was unaware that these symptoms should and could be treated. Those requiring urgent attention were sent to hospital and the teachers now know how to spot symptoms and respond.
Extraction Excitement
Two months later a dentist arrived, equipped with a bag of medical instruments and supplies, to help run pop-up clinics in schools and communities. Dr. Mark immediately set up a garden lounger as a dentist chair as hundreds gathered for treatment. Due to the extensive decay and minimal previous dental care, many needed extractions.
In one migrant school, children bravely trusted Dr. Mark as he pulled their teeth. Few showed fear or burst into tears. One patient said she’d been in pain for ages and felt immediate relief. After seeing the doctor, they left with a short toothbrushing lesson and received Nation to Nation hygiene kits including toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other toiletries. Reflecting on the experience, Mark said, "I've been in very very poor areas and they were just as bad if not worse in many of the areas. There's a ton of need for dental care here."
