Bringing the Good News of Comfort and Joy to those often forgotten
"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people." (Luke 2:10)
Humble shepherds, often marginalised by society, were chosen by God as the first to receive the Good News of Jesus' birth.
As we deliver Family Sacs to struggling border communities, we carry God's love to many who are otherwise left to fend on their own and live on borrowed land without ID's or documents that would offer them more opportunities to make a living.
Just as the angel of the Lord appeared first to the marginalised with a message and songs of joy, as we deliver crisis aid to families and communities in distress, we bring songs of joy and watch smiles fill their faces.
These community members in crisis receive our team with open arms, invite us to pray for them and eagerly share their stories with us, thanking us for stopping to visit them.
One social welfare associate's tragic family story has led to a deep friendship. After one family member experienced a serious motorcycle accident, she drove her uncle to hospital and then came to the HUB to seek help. This crisis led to her receiving Christ that weekend and now, a year later, her uncle is recovering and her extended family is excited to sing with us and learn more about Jesus.
This wonderful young lady continues to open many doors for us to share the good news with hurting families. Last month she invited us to share our Christmas presentation with her whole village — 50 families and 180 children. What an opportunity to share the Good News of Comfort and Joy!
These conversations and friendships develop month by month as we bring practical aid and take time to sit with each family and listen to their stories. Family Sacs with urgent crisis aid like rice, dried noodles, eggs, oil, sardines, and chilli paste, hygiene kits, and other resources including toys, clothes, solar lights, medicine bring hope that changes lives.
