Lightning and New Life

How God healed a boy struck by lightning in miraculous time.

Last August, Kevin & Julia met Sam and his big family of children. While visiting the children’s home, they met the newest arrival, D, who had been rescued by Sam after fleeing conflict and wandering in the jungle alone.

The next day, a violent storm came while some of the children were out in the field and lightening struck two boys. One was ok, but D was on fire, unconscious and not breathing. The all rushed to him and put the flames out but the skin was gone on one side. They prayed, "Oh God, let him breathe again!" He sent for help and gathered the other boys around him. They laid hands on him and prayed, "In the name of Jesus Christ, rise again!" . One, two, three minutes passed. In the 4th minute, his breath returned. After 4 minutes of no breathing, brain damage can occur - God saved him right on time!

That night Kevin got an urgent call from Sam. “Two boys were hit by lightening in the violent storm last night. One was ok but D needs care for the burns all over his body. Can you help us? We got him by truck to hospital.” Nation to Nation responded with the funds needed for his urgent care.

The hospital said it would take 3 months but in 23 days, D came home. “It’s because of prayer,” Sam said. Last month when Kevin & Julia visited again, D smiled and lifted his shirt. There was hardly a trace of the burns. “I believe the Bible is true,” D said, “and I want to serve God with my whole life.”
